Questions About Fertility & Preconception Health

How does health optimization fit into fertility care?

At Infinite Health, Trip Goolsby, MD evaluates your broader health in the context of your family-building goals. Your personalized plan may address nutrition, metabolic health, hormone-related concerns, physical fitness, sleep, and mindset, based on your individual findings. This work can complement evaluation and treatment with your reproductive care team.

Can I schedule a consultation after unsuccessful IVF or IUI?

Yes. Your consultation provides time to review previous care, available results, and your broader health. Bring your treatment history and questions so Dr. Goolsby can discuss where health optimization may fit into your next steps. A consultation does not require you to stop fertility treatment.

Have patients conceived naturally after participating in your program?

Infinite Health reports that 10 of 10 patients in the group described by our practice conceived naturally after participating in our health optimization program, including patients with previous unsuccessful IVF experiences.

These are encouraging individual outcomes from a small group, not a clinical trial or a prediction of your results. They do not establish that the program caused conception or that it is more effective than IVF. Pregnancy cannot be guaranteed.

Should both partners consider an evaluation?

Both partners’ health can be relevant to the conversation. Each person’s medical history, medications, prior findings, and goals deserve individual attention. When a male partner is contributing sperm, fertility evaluation generally includes assessment of both partners, including semen analysis when appropriate.

Will I automatically receive hormones, peptides, or supplements?

No. Recommendations depend on your individual evaluation and reproductive goals. Trying to conceive changes which therapies may be appropriate. Any proposed medication, hormone, peptide, or supplement requires a specific discussion of its purpose, evidence, risks, and suitability before conception or during pregnancy.

Should I wait to see a fertility specialist while optimizing my health?

No. Health optimization should not delay an appropriate fertility evaluation. Evaluation is generally recommended after 12 months of trying if you are under 35, or after 6 months if you are 35 or older. More immediate evaluation may be appropriate over 40 or when there are irregular cycles, known reproductive conditions, or other concerns.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring previous laboratory results, fertility evaluations, treatment summaries, and a current list of medications and supplements. Cycle information, relevant pregnancy history, and notes about your goals and questions can also help guide the discussion.

Are virtual consultations available?

Yes. Infinite Health is located in Metairie and serves Greater New Orleans and the Gulf South. Our team can confirm virtual consultation availability for your location and explain whether local testing or an in-person visit may be needed.
