Top Tips to Stay Healthy This Fall in New Orleans

As we transition into fall, we must keep our immune systems strong and maintain our overall health. Here are some of my favorite tips to help you stay on your health game:

Boost Your Immune System

Loading up on foods rich in vitamins C and D, zinc, and antioxidants is key to supporting your immune system. Think citrus fruits, leafy greens, nuts, and seeds. These nutrients are your immune system's best friends and can help you stay healthy as the seasons change.

Stay Hydrated

Even with the weather cooling down a bit, staying hydrated is crucial. Aim for at least eight glasses of water daily to keep everything running smoothly. Want even better water? Try Analemma's Coherent Water. My kids make fun of me when I add my Analemma wand to my water, but that's okay – it’s all about optimal hydration!

Prioritize Sleep

The shorter days of fall are perfect for resetting your sleep routine. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to let your body recharge. Quality sleep is essential for overall health and well-being.

Get Moving

Exercise is a fantastic way to boost your immune system and stay strong. Try getting at least 30 minutes of activity each day, whether walking, jogging, or practicing yoga. Regular physical activity can significantly improve your health.

Manage Stress

Stress can take a toll on your immune system, so finding ways to keep it in check is essential. Practice mindfulness, meditation, or read my favorite book, *Think and Live Longer*. Even just taking a few deep breaths can make a big difference.

Enjoy the Outdoors

Fall in New Orleans is a beautiful time to enjoy the outdoors without the extreme summer heat. Take advantage of the pleasant weather to get some fresh air and sunshine. It’s also a better time to visit the Audubon Zoo – it's cooler than in June and July, and with kids back in school, it’s less crowded.

Schedule a Follow-up Appointment
