n the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” — Deepak Chopra

It is so easy to tell another person to “keep stillness inside in the midst of movement and chaos,” but it raises the question, HOW? How do we remove ourselves from being tossed this way and that way by overwhelming and seemingly insurmountable waves of a storm and instead be like the confident and stead fast lighthouse?

tep 1: Tap into our inner Neo. If you saw The Matrix, you probably can easily recall that moment when faced with multiple bullets speeding towards his head, Neo put up his hand and simply said, “No,” and the bullets dropped to the floor prior to reaching his head. The storm, the daily trauma-drama is liken to those bullets and the first step to stepping into stillness is to RECOGNIZE that we have the power to say no. No, we will no longer be the victim.

Step 2: Tap into our inner Super Man/Woman. Now that we RECOGNIZE that we have the power to say no, we then must consciously CHOOSE to do so and after doing so, we cape up, crown up, power up and CHOOSE a different path, a different reaction, we CHOOSE stillness. It’s all just a choice.

Step 3: Tap into our dreams. We’ve said “NO!” We’ve consciously chosen a different direction. Now, we must redirect our focus away from what appears to be “movement and chaos” to the inner peace and the stillness that we desire. One of the best ways to do this is to take some time everyday, even if it’s just 15 minutes, and daydream about what we would prefer to be experiencing. What does that look like? What are the colors, sounds and smells? Now amp them up. What does that feel like? Really step into the FEELING of your desired reality. Just bask in that daydream for a bit.

Step 4: Tap into gratitude and then tap into gratitude in faith. It is not possible to be in a state of heart-felt thankfulness and a state of worry and anxiety at the same time. We must begin to be so thankful and grateful for all that we have been blessed with, all that we are currently blessed with, and all that we still desire to experience in advance. The storm, the movement and the chaos has already been resolved in our favor, all really is well, it’s only that our limited perspective of our perceived reality that prevents us from fully appreciating this. This is why we exercise gratitude in faith.

If you are in the middle of “movement and chaos,” I encourage you to exercise these four steps daily for the next 30 days and then let me know what shifts you begin to see in your life. XOXO ~ LeNae
